ALESSANDRO GASSMANN BIOGRAPHY:
Alessandro Gassmann (born 24 February 1965) is an Italian actor.
Early life
Gassmann was born in Rome, Italy, the son of Italian actor Vittorio Gassman and French actress Juliette Mayniel. He is of Jewish, German and French descent.
Career
He debuted at 17 in the autobiographical film Di padre in figlio, written and directed with his father, under whose tutoring he later studied in the Theatre Workshop of Florence. Among his theatrical activity, he was noted for his playing in Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Affabulazione (1984). In 1996 he began an artistic partnership with his friend Gianmarco Tognazzi with whom he co-acted in popular movies like Uomini senza donne, Facciamo festa, Teste di cocco, Lovest, I miei più cari amici and Natale a Beverly Hills, in the theatrical version of Some Like It Hot and as dubbers of the Disney cartoon Eldorado. In 1997 he imposed internationally with Ferzan Özpetek’s Hamam. He was subsequently chosen by Yves Saint Laurent as testimonial for his perfume Opium, and posed in a nude calendar for the Italian magazine Max. He also became a testimonial for Lancia of Musa, as well as appearing in an ad for the Glen Grant liquor. As an actor, he worked for several TV miniseries and, in France, in the action movie Transporter 2 (opposite Jason Statham), produced by Luc Besson. In 2006, Gassmann appeared in the comedy Non prendere impegni stasera. He then took part in TV dramas such as Piccolo mondo antico, Le stagioni del cuore, La guerra è finita and La Sacra Famiglia; he also acted in the US action film Transporter 2 and in Italy in the comedy Non prendere impegni stasera. In 2008 he acted in the film Caos calmo as the brother of the main lead, interpreted by Nanni Moretti. For this role, he was honoured by many awards: the David di Donatello award for a supporting actor, the Ciak d’oro, the Nastro d’Argento and the Globo d’oro of the foreign press. In the same year, he adapted for the stage the teleplay 12 Angry Men, written by Reginald Rose in 1954 that was made into a film by Sidney Lumet in 1957: the performance was taken up again in 2009, year in which he also appeared as leading actor in 4 padri single by Paolo Monico, Ex by Fausto Brizzi and Il compleanno by Marco Filiberti as well in the TV miniseries Pinocchio directed by Alberto Sironi. He is acting Tutor in Cinecittà at Act Multimedia.
Personal life
Since 1998, Gassmann has been married to actress Sabrina Knaflitz. They have a son, Leo.

Paola Gassman Milano, 29 giugno 1945 è un’attrice teatrale italiana, figlia di Vittorio Gassman e Nora Ricci e sorella di Vittoria Gassman, Alessandro Gassmann e Jacopo Gassman. Paola Gassman si è dedicata quasi esclusivamente al teatro, a eccezione di alcune sporadiche ma significative apparizioni televisive in commedie e sceneggiati. All’inizio della carriera si ricordano i tre anni trascorsi nella compagnia Teatro Libero diretta da Luca Ronconi, che con lo spettacolo Orlando furioso la vide presente in moltissime nazioni europee e negli Stati Uniti, culminando in un’importante trasmissione televisiva a puntate. Sempre in quel periodo prese parte agli spettacoli La tragedia del vendicatore per la regia di Ronconi e Cucina diretta da Lina Wertmuller. Entrò poi nella compagnia Brignone-Pagliai con gli spettacoli Spettri di Ibsen e Processo di famiglia di Fabbri. È stata inoltre diretta dal padre Vittorio in spettacoli come Cesare o nessuno, Fa male il teatro e Bugie sincere. Con la ditta teatrale Pagliai-Gassman ha messo in scena molti spettacoli sia nel genere drammatico sia in quello comico e brillante. Si ricorda il lungo periodo dedicato a Pirandello: Liolà, Il piacere dell’onestà, L’uomo, la bestia e la virtù, Ma non è una cosa seria, e poi ancora Il bugiardo di Goldoni, Il gatto in tasca di Feydeau, Scene di matrimonio di Svevo, Il mercante di Venezia e Sogno di una notte di mezza estate di Shakespeare. Ha recitato con registi quali Squarzina, Castri, Bolognini, Piccardi, Sciaccaluga, Ronconi, Maccarinelli, e tra i molti recenti spettacoli si ricordano Spirito allegro di Coward, Giù dal monte Morgan di Miller, Vita col padre di Crouse, Harvey di Chase, Ifigenia in Aulide e Elena di Euripide, Viaggio a Venezia e La bottega del caffè di Goldoni. Negli ultimi anni con Ugo Pagliai, conosciuto ai tempi dell’Accademia nazionale d’arte drammatica “Silvio D’Amico”, si è dedicata anche alla poesia e a tutti quei brani che si legano alla memoria e al repertorio. Nel 2007 ha pubblicato presso Marsilio Editore l’autobiografia Una grande famiglia dietro le spalle.
Vita privata
È sposata con l’attore Ugo Pagliai e ha due figli: Tommaso Pagliai e Simona Virgilio, avuta dal primo marito, l’attore Luciano Virgilio, conosciuto all’Accademia nazionale d’arte drammatica (esattamente come avevano fatto vent’anni prima i genitori di Paola).

Ugo Pagliai born 13 November 1937 is an Italian actor and voice actor.
Life and career
In 1958, Pagliai enrolled at the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica, starting his career on stage in the early 1960s. He became first known in 1969, thanks to the Giuseppe Fina’s critically acclaimed stage play, Ross. In 1971, he had a major success as the lead actor of the Daniele D’Anza’s miniseries, Il segno del comando, and then appeared in a number of other successful RAI TV-series, often directed by D’Anza. He is mainly active onstage, often with his wife, Paola Gassman, the daughter of actors Vittorio Gassman and Nora Ricci. In 1988, Pagliai received a Flaiano Prize for his career.
