Marco Brenno Placido, known as Brenno Placido (Rome, August 23, 1991), is an Italian actor. Son of art, he was born from the marriage of the actor and director Michele Placido with the actress Simonetta Stefanelli; he is the brother of the actress Violante Placido and the nephew of Gerardo Amato and Donato Placido. He made his film debut in Romanzo criminale (2005) and Il grande sogno (2009), both films directed by his father, while on television he achieved great popularity with the three seasons of the fiction Tutti pazzi per amore, broadcast between 2008 and 2012 by Rai 1, in which he played the role of Emanuele Balestrieri. On July 24, 2010, he was awarded the Grand Prix Corallo Città di Alghero for his performance in the fiction Tutti pazzi per amore 2. Again in 2010, he played Mauro in Natale in Sud Africa. On April 9, 2011, during the Foggia Film Festival, he received the award for best emerging actor in the Italian scene. In 2012, together with his father Michele, he performed in the theater with King Lear. In 2014, he appeared in the Dolce & Gabbana perfume commercial. In 2017, he participated in the third season of the original Sky series In Treatment; he played the role of Luca, a homosexual and problematic teenager. In May 2018, he received the “Note da Oscar Award” as part of the “Alessandro Cicognini Festival” for the “best emerging actor” section.
