During his racing career, Varenne competed in 73 races, winning 62, with six second-place finishes and two third-place finishes. Of his 62 victories, 53 came in major Grand Prix events.
He achieved success over a wide range of distances and established numerous records during an exceptional international career. Varenne raced successfully across Europe and North America, winning in seven different countries and becoming one of the most internationally successful trotters in the history of harness racing.
His achievements included victories in many of the sport’s most prestigious races. The 2001 season was particularly remarkable, with victories in the Prix d’Amérique, Gran Premio della Lotteria, Elitloppet and Breeders Crown.
